-Winners of the 8th annual Scottish Curry Awards are announced-

Last night, the Thistle Hotel Glasgow welcomed a gathering of over 500 attendees from across Scotland in a celebration to reward the best in the curry industry.

The winners of the 8th annual Scottish Curry Awards were announced on Monday 23rd March at a swanky affair.

Over 15,000 nominations came in from all over Scotland and the race to be crowned winners at this year’s awards ceremony was an extremely tight contest.

“To be amongst such passionate people who love what they do is truly inspiring. The Scottish Curry Awards aims to recognise that dedication.” commented Yasmin Mahmood, Operations Director of event organisers Oceanic Consulting.
“It was a fantastic evening and I would like to thank everyone for attending and a big thank you to our sponsors. Congratulations to all our winners and finalists, and I hope to see you next year!”
The glam event was hosted by award winning comedian and actor, Mani Liaqat.  Guests on the night also included former Boxing Champion Gary Jacobs and professional boxer Haroon Khan.  As well as the awards ceremony, guests were treated to a special performance by a dance group Bollyfeat.
As well as recognising the curry industry in all its facets, the event also raised just over £6500 for the official charity partner the Amir Khan Foundation.
